When thinking about why you should set up a venation system there are three things you want to keep in mind.
To help reduce the threat of heat stress its a good idea to at least have a fan blowing in your grow room. This will help circulate the air preventing a hot spot to occur.
It's also a good idea to invest in a cool tube for your HID lights. This can significantly reduce the heat put off by your lights. Many growers also set up a automated cooling system with built in thermostats.
Having excess humidity in your grow-room is never a good thing. Humidity can cause mold and mildew and provide the type of environment pests thrive in. Also just like heat, humidity can stunt growth also.
Believe it or not a fan also will help control the humidity. The best thing to do would be to get a exhaust fan and run that to keep the humidity under control.. You can also set up a timer or humidistat so it's automated and you don't have to worry about it.
Another option is to run a dehumidifier. This can be great at night because your plants transpire moisture during the dark cycle too, so the dehumidifier would be perfect to run at night.
3. Supplying CO2 To Your Garden
Since your growing in a indoor garden your plants can actually use up the CO2 in your garden. Its a good idea to be able to put back the CO2 that your plants used up. If your not supplying your plant with CO2 running a fan continuously can help by making sure fresh air is getting into your garden.
If you can run a intake fan from another room, or outside into your grow room this can take care of that problem. If you are not able to do this there are other methods to supply CO2 to your garden like sparying carbonated water on your fan leaves (If your plant is flowering this wont be the best idea).
If you go the route of having a exhaust and intake system remember that hot air rises. It is best to set the exhaust system at the top of your growing and have the incoming air set at the bottom of your grow room.
Like most things when it comes to growing you will refine your system as you learn. Your ventilation system may take some tweaking and adjusting but the important thing is you have some type of air exchange in your grow room.
As you refine your growing techniques you will be able to grow better and better buds. I look at growing cannabis to be a art. Master that art and you can grow some grade A marijuana.
